Research Center Director Prof. Ye Jinhua is elected as Member of Academia Europaea

Recently, the  Academia Europaea published the results of the 2025 academician co-option, and the Director of the Research Center, Prof. Ye Jinhua, is elected as Member of Academia Europaea.


               


    Professor Jinhua Ye is a selected candidate of the National Major Talent Project. She is employed at the School of Physics, Hebei University in April 2023, and she is currently the director of the Center for Light-Driven Carbon Neutral Research in the School of Physical Science and Technology.Her current research interests focus on the research and development of photo functional materials and their applications in the fields of environment preservation and new energy production.And she has successively undertaken more than ten major projects of the Japanese government and industry, as well as key projects of the National 973 Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and her achievements include many world-leading innovative results.She has contributed more than 750 high impact research papers (including those in Nature, Nature Mater., Nature Catalysis, Nature Commun., J. Am Chem. Soc., Angew Chem., Adv. Mater., etc), which have been cited over 75,000 times (h index: 145). She has been admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry since 2016, and also selected as 2016, 2018-2024 Highly Cited Researcher (Clarivate Analytics), 2022 Pioneer in Energy Research (ACS Publications), and a Member of Academia Europaea (MAE) in 2025. She is currently serving as the Associate Editor of ACS Nano, and Science Advances (AAAS).

    The Academia Europaea is founded in 1988 as the European Academy of Humanities and Natural Sciences (EAHNS), which is a joint initiative of the Royal Society and the Academies of Sciences of many European countries, with more than 5,500 academicians, including more than 90 Nobel Prize recipients. The academicians of the academy cover natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, engineering and technology and other disciplines, representing the highest level of science and academic status of the European humanities and natural sciences, including in the humanities, social sciences, material sciences, life sciences, mathematics, engineering sciences and medical fields of the outstanding European scientists, or scientists with Europe has a long history of close cooperation (elected as its foreign academicians). The Academicians are co-opted once a year and are nominated by two current Academicians and selected through a rigorous peer-review process and by the relevant Academic Boards. The selection process is mainly based on European scientists, with a pass rate of no more than 5% for foreign academicians. The elected academicians are awarded the title of “MAE” (Member of Academia Europaea), which symbolizes their outstanding achievements and international reputation in their respective academic fields.
